Word explosions

I have been doing some brain storming to see if there is any extra information I have missed. I have looked at what a diary is, what format it could be in, what categories to consider (what's in the diary), design elements, and possible characters/people;

There are many things a journal could be; something personal, a calendar, a daily/weekly diary, pocket diary, photo album, historic, or online/blog/video diary.

I don't think an online journal is the right thing for my project because it won't have that personal touch. I want to keep it as real to a diary as possible. 

In terms of format, again lots of possibilities. The ones that struck me most to consider were, size and form (book). Depending on the character, I won't know if it is a yearly, weekly, or monthly one yet. And not sure on the shape yet either. that will all come together once I do it. But again, if I am keeping it real, then I would like to adopt a book format, perhaps even a scrap book.

Categories, another tough decision to make. But as I said, it all depends on the character. 

Design elements; the possibilities are endless with hand crafted work. So I am looking forward to getting stuck in and experimenting with different ideas. Especially stencilling and collage.

My next step is to now try and decide what type of character I want to base this journal on, and look at other peoples journals... what they write about and so on, online or offline.
