Skins & Sugar Rush

These are two of my most FAVOURITE shows in the whole wide world
Although it is about a group of teenagers in college, each episode focusses on one characters story, but still links in the rest of the cast, which is brilliant. I love that about it.
I was thinking about using one of the characters from here as I relate to one of them. They way she thinks, and the way she is.

On the second episode of this current series (4), there was a scene which involved an extras diary. I thought the pages design were great, and so personal and intense as to what they were about. Fortunately, E4 posted these images:

All this imagery was just from one day. I love the simplicity of it, and how beautifully it portrays a spark with few words. They clean style of it conveys a happy story... in comparison, the second image from the top is full of anger and frustration, shown by the colour, and harshness of the drawing and text.

They also have a novel, which tells the story of what happened over the summer break (as each series begins during term-time), and so the story in the book isn't filmed. Which I thought was a good thing... I have it too so can't wait to get stuck into reading it. Could use this within the journal idea to add events and thoughts as the book is likely to say what the characters are thinking.

Sugar Rush
This is a possible character for my journal... the main character, Kim. When this show first came on the box several years ago, I thought 'wow, this girl is me.' Everything she said, thought, and did (well not too much on the did part) but definately thoughts. So it might be interesting to use her character as my alter ego, and add some of my own elements to it too.

What else I liked about the show is that her thoughts were used as the narrator, so as well as commenting on some of the things that were happening, she was also saying what she thought about it - and this is what made me relate this show to a journal.
