Inspiration

I was going through all my past projects - from high school, and college - and came across some stuff I researched. The main one being Sam Taylor-Wood. I really like her photography series Soliloquy;

"Five Revolutionary Seconds XI, combines elements of the still and moving image. Made with a rotating camera that turns nearly 360 degrees in five seconds, the work records the motions and gestures of six actors and friends enlisted by the artist."

This style of photography is pure genius, and I think it relates really way to a journal of someone's life. I could adopt this style throughout, as it captures a whole scene in one image.
I also recently discovered that my mobile phone takes around 5 photos in one snapshot. So you see slight sudden movements and changes within one facial expression, for example.

It's just really beautiful imagery, very effective and eye-catching because you don't instantly associate it as being one image. This is a great starting point for my concept. Now it is just a matter of deciding who the person will be - ficticious or not?

ROUTINE, REPETITION & ABSTRACT
This whole 360 degree photography, and people, linked me to thinking about a persons daily routine, and how that could lead onto repetition and abstract. I found some inspiring imagery based on repetition, and also, graphical effects that I could adopt to intensify the photography work;

I particularly like this last image. I would really love to collaborate a photograph (3D) with some related drawings (2D)...

VECTOR ART
Another style of working which I have never had the chance to use is vector art. I have wanted to do this for a long time now, and think this would tie in quite nicely with the whole journal idea, as it has no limitations to how it can be presented and such.

Images like the above really inspire me. I find these types of design really stand out, and I have always liked to mix media, which is what I want to explore again for my FMP. And I am also interested in using bold colour with black. One of my favourite ways to create work.
