I was just doing some browsing and looking at ways to display my pages, and it has led me to thinking about my content, and I am hoping that it will be meaty enough to satisfy the visual side of it.
I was thinking to maybe mix up past with present... so it has a sort of narrative aspect to it. And there could be interruptions like someone knocking on my door so my train of thought is stopped for a moment.
Anyway these are images that I found interesting;
I found this randomly at uni, and thought it looked good as it was two pages, but the front one had a rectangle cut out of it. I would like to use this sort of method in my diary... an interactive one that makes people want to find out the story.
I like the idea of cutting out words within an image, it looks very enticing. I like the linear look to it.
Folding; I thought this would be good to do because it unveils the story as you go along. It also reminded me of letters and how they could be placed within an envelope on the page.
Pop-up pages; I have always wanted to do something involving pop-up, I like the way it looks and could be used as a way to highlight something important within the diary.
I liked the idea of this front cover. It adds a personal touch to a book, not quite sure what to do with mine yet. But I do like Pete Doherty's front cover for his journal 'The Books of Albion.' It just shows his outline in a beautiful linear drawing, and just has his name alongside it (below).
